the black cab sessions– a collaborative project between just so films and hidden fruit that documents stripped down performances by well known artists from the back seat of a taxi cab driving down london streets to no where in particular– began in may of this year and has played host to a number of notable artists since. some names you’re sure to recognize are daniel johnston, bill callahan, the new pornographers, and the national. 25 artists have participated in the sessions so far and more are sure to follow, so i’d bookmark their site if i were you. having jens lekman play “black cab” in the back of a black cab has got to happen sooner or later. i know i’ll be waiting for it. these are two of my favorite performances so far.
