sunset rubdown on daytrotter

head on over to daytrotter for their second sunset rubdown session, featuring a new song that didn’t make it onto random spirit lover, a slowed down take on that album’s opening track, and the live staple “three colors”. my personal favorite here is “three colors”, originally recorded by spencer in two parts on the sunset rubdown ep. everytime i’ve seen the band play this song live, spencer has preceded it with the warning that the band has yet to quite figure it out. despite their misgivings, i always considered it one of the the highlights of their set and have long been hoping for a re-recorded full band version. unfortunately, it looks like this is the closest i’m going to get. at least the addition of new member the nuc on bass seems to have finally given spencer confidence in the song.

and if you missed sr’s first daytrotter session, be sure to check that out while your there.
