no better time than the present for an ashlee simpson love song, right? the summer we went west were a band of drunken ruffians from college park, who only released one album proper, following the holy moon goddess, but wrote and recorded a bunch of great stuff that never saw an official release. i guess you could say “ashlee simpson” is one of the latter, though it should be noted it’s more of an erik song, than a summer we went song. it’s not the band’s best work, but i think it’s pretty funny stuff.

“ashlee simpson” may give the impression that swww was a novelty act, so to be fair to the band be sure to check these out .
