i usually don’t pay much attention to press releases, but the lead on this one caught my eye…
“CAW! CAW! specializes in cosmic pop songs for space explorers, time travelers, pill-popping lovers, miniature golfers and teenagers making out.”
finally, music written for miniature golfers! well, supposedly… i’m not catching any themes uniquely relevant to the mini golf community. but, i found if you listen to the song while imagining a fast forward replay of your latest game of mini golf it works pretty well. “organisms” various changes allow you to go through a nice range of emotions during an envisioned 3 minute run through of your chosen 18 holes — from happily running from hole to hole, to throwing your putter in disgust as your ball goes floating down stream, to slowing it down to line up the game winning shot… it’s not a bad soundtrack to an imaginary game of mini golf.
on the topic of fun kinds of golf, tiger woods 2009 was released for wii this week and it looks like after 2 fairly sub par attempts, ea’s finally gotten it right. i’ve got a $50 gamestop card i was planning on putting towards the upcoming wario land… but it looks i may be in for a change of plans.
