i know this is all in good fun… more for the amusement of the participants than any imagined audience. but i’ve got to object to what the record club has done to “master song”. i can imagine the artists assembled in that room putting together an amazing cover of this song… a drone filled soundscape that plays up those bits that float in and out of the background on the original and really does justice to cohen’s lyrics. instead they’ve done the song, cohen and everyone a real disservice. “master, master, mother fuckin’ master song”? auto tune? really, guys? it looks like you probably should have gone with ace of base.
