temporary slaraffenland
Temporary Slaraffenland from vincent moon / temporary areas on Vimeo.
this is such an incredible idea… copenhagen in 40 minutes…. an entire album literally reimagined on the fly… and an album just one month old, so that the average viewer must be experiencing this alternate version first… the image of the city as the first impression of the music, so that to think of we’re on your side is to think of copenhagen. i have this same sort of connection with the soft bulletin and mark twain’s a connecticut yankee in king arthur’s court… it’s a story for another time, but i can’t think of one without the other… and it has strangely added a new layer of depth to my appreciation of both works. to think that anyone who first experiences we’re on your side through this film and goes on to appreciate the record will forever have that mental connection between the music and the city and spaces that inspired it… it’s an amazing thing.
